My name is Jale' Parsons and I am Visual Effects artist with a BA in Visual Effects from Savannah College of Art and Design. I decided to focus primarily on compositing and lighting. This site was created in order to start introducing my self to the public, as well as allow potential employers and friends to view my work and progress. I am in the early stages of putting together my reel so the quantity and more importantly the quality of my work will be constantly improving. Please feel free to visit my site periodically to check for updates.
Thank you for visiting and enjoy!
- 01/01/2021 What a crazy year 2020 was for us all! Of course visual effects and post production in general took a huge hit but I'm still here and more eager than ever to continue sharpening my skills and growing within the industry. I am much more focused on showing my capabilities as a team leader and supervisor during 2021 while continuing to strengthen my core compositing skillset. Please feel free to take a look in the reel section to get a sense of my capabilities, enjoy!
- 11/20/2017 It has been a long time coming and I am exited to update my reel for 2017! While features are still my favorite, I have spent a lot of my time over the past few years in commercials. I am attempting to show the wide range of tasks I am capable of while still focusing on showcasing my best and most exciting work. Please feel free to take a look in the reel section. Enjoy!
- 2/9/2013I finally had the opportunity to update my reel so take a look in the reel section. It includes some of my compositing, clean up and paint, and roto work from late 2011 through the end of 2012. Enjoy!
- 9/7/11More than half way through 2011 and I have finally updated my reel for the year! Take a look and let me know what you think, I am looking for freelance or staffed positions in the Los Angeles area as well as overseas. I have experience with both features and commercials, and enjoy working on both.
- 5/2/10 I have been pretty busy over these past few months but I finally had time to UPDATE MY REEL!, so please take a look and let me know what you think. I am currently looking for freelance or staffed positions in the Los Angeles area and am open to working on a variety of different types of projects.
- 1/5/10 First of all Happy New year to you all! 2009 was a great year but 2010 will be even better. It has been a while since I have updated my website but I have been busy working part time to pay the bills and attending an internship with Zoic Studios here in California. I learned a lot, made some great friends and connections, and had an overall great time. I am still finishing some things up over there but soon I will be updating my reel in preparation to futher my search for freelance and staffed positions.
- 6/10/09 For those of you who don't already know I recently graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BA in Visual Effects! It was a long ride but one that I enjoyed and learned a lot from. I am now in California with plans of beginning my new career as a visual effects artist.
- 5/28/09 I am nearing the end of my final quarter here at SCAD and just wanted to show a little bit of some work that I have done. This quarter I took all electives since that was all I had left as graduation requirements. I chose to take classes that were a little outside my normal scope of work, I took the second Houdini class as well as an intro to broadcast design class to further my understanding of After Effects. I discovered that particles and effects are not quite my thing but I still had fun anyway. You can take a look at my blowtorch or the dancing fountain that I created by clicking on one of the previous links.
- 2/22/09 I have finaly uploaded the first (of many) updates to my reel! It took me much much longer than expected but late is better than never. If you are interested please take a look and let me know what you think. I should have some more pieces coming soon since i have about 4 senior film projects going into post production starting this spring and I will be completing my studio 2 class at the by the end of this quater. Any way thanks for be waiting and there is more to come!
- 1/01/09 First off I would like to wish every one a happy New Year! I am now entering my second of three quaters in my senior year at SCAD, and I am looking foward to graduation. Since my last update I have been working on some senior student films as well as some shots of my own for my reel. I am learning a lot about producing a finished product for someone other than my self and working with them to create a final shot that the both of us are satisfied with. It was certainly difficult to make changes that the director wanted despite the fact that I felt they took away from the beliveablity of the shot but I am quickly learning that it's just part of the industry. I also was able to get Nuke 5 and I am failry comfortable with the platform now. I certainly have a lot more to learn and still some times find my self getting stuck on simple problems, but I can often work through them on my own. I have recently updated my resume and within the next few weeks should have atleast a preliminary update to my reel uploaded. Over the next few months I will probably be making frequent updates and changes to my reel and website so please check back regularly.
- 6/28/08 Over the summer I have decided to start learning Nuke. I have the older version, Nuke 4.6, and have just done some basic tutorials and watched a few instructional videos to help familiarize my self with the platform. So far the transition from Shake to Nuke is a realitively effortless one. The general concepts are the same but some of the specifics are different. Overall I like it and with any luck by the end of the summer, I will be at least comfortable enough with the platform to be able to complete basic tasks such as roto, keying, CC, etc.

- 5/19/08 I recently joined the VSFX team of yet another senior film project entitled "The Sixth Heaven". The film is going to require some heavy compositing and even with a team of 5 or 6 compositors should provide enough work for me to take the project into my studio one class. Production for this film should begin over the summer so I will be getting my first batch of shots at the beginning of fall quarter. For Facebook members, some info and concept art can be viewed at www.http://www.6thheaven.cjb.net/

- 4/25/08 I have officially joined the VSFX team of the senior Film project "Blades of Fenix". I will of course be doing the compositing and depending on whats needed possibly some lighting. Production officially starts in the fall so I will have an up date on the project around then.
- 4/18/08 Not only is today my birthday, my I have finally gotten my website up and running! Checkback soon for more updates.
When I put this web page together I designed it not only to be simple and to the point, but more importantly to be accessible to people regardless of what browser or computer they are using. For the most part, all of my pages and links work as long as one of, or a variant of, the following browsers is used .
