My name is Jale' Parsons and I am a 31 year old male from Atlanta, Ga. I am a graduate from Savannah College of Art and Design and I have earned a BA in Visual Effects.
I have been interested in movies and visual effects for as long as I can remember. I believe I was first introduced to action, sci-fi, and thriller movies by my mother during my later elementary school years. I was always fascinated by the illusions the special effects artists of the time were able to create using miniatures, prosthetics, etc. I did several research papers and presentations on the subject in school and I taught myself as much as I could about the subject. By the time I completed elementary school I knew that I wanted to be a visual effects artist.
As I got older CGI started playing a larger and larger roll in creating the movie magic I had come to love. In high school I took a few modeling classes and shot some of my first short films and documentaries. I also took a photography class which helped me develop my eye for cinematography as well as artistic style. I used the skills that I acquired during my years in high school to put together a small portfolio and applied to one of the top art schools in the country, Savannah College of Art and Design. Ever since I was accepted I have been doing everything in my power to learn and excel in my craft.
Although visual effects is one of my biggest interests, I do have a few other hobbies. I spend at least one hour in the gym 4 or 5 days out of every week lifting weights and keeping myself in shape. I am also interested in video games and music. One of my biggest hobbies since I turned 16 has been modifying cars. I have learned a tremendous amount about automobiles and I learn something new with every project I take on. Even though it can get expensive at times, its always fun and often rewarding, and a great way to clear my mind and just enjoy life.
